PIRJ ensures long-term accessibility and preservation of the scholarly record through secure hosting and redundant archiving practices.
Digital Archiving
Pillar Interdisciplinary Research Journal (PIRJ) is committed to the long-term preservation of the scholarly record. We ensure that all published content remains accessible, even in the event that the journal ceases publication.
Preservation Strategy
All articles are archived in the PIRJ digital repository, with redundant backups maintained across geographically diverse servers. We utilize the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, which supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system for decentralized archiving.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are encouraged to self-archive the Version of Record (VoR) — the final, formatted PDF published by PIRJ — in their institutional repositories, on their personal websites, or in disciplinary repositories (e.g., PubMed Central, arXiv) immediately upon publication.
Persistent Identifiers
Each article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI). This ensures that the link to the scholarly work remains stable and reachable regardless of changes to the website structure or domain name.
PIRJ content is further registered and indexed in global scholarly databases to ensure maximal discoverability and permanence.
